At Westfield, our Music Program empowers students to explore sound, rhythm, and performance as powerful tools of expression and identity. Beginning in the early years and extending through the senior grades, students engage with music in dynamic and meaningful ways—learning to listen deeply, perform confidently, and create with purpose.
Our curriculum includes vocal and instrumental training, contemporary band, music theory, composition, and digital recording. Whether performing on stage, collaborating in ensembles, or composing original pieces, students build discipline, creativity, and stage presence. Opportunities to participate in school concerts, talent shows, and community performances help students grow not just as musicians, but as confident individuals.
In the Lower Division, students are introduced to music through singing, rhythm games, and simple instruments. They develop listening skills, musical patterns, and group performance confidence. The program fosters creativity, joy, and foundational musical understanding that prepares them for deeper engagement in later years.
In the Upper Division, students refine their musical skills through vocal training, instrumental performance, composition, and ensemble work. They explore music theory, stage presence, and recording techniques. The program encourages artistic confidence, collaboration, and creativity—preparing students for advanced musical opportunities and public performances.
